Welcome to Midd-West Wrestling

Midd-West History

The Midd-West Wrestling Association was formed when the Midd-West School District formed Midd-West High School from the former West Snyder and Middleburg High Schools.

At the high school level, Midd-West competes at the AA level and qualifies for the PIAA state tournament through the Southern Sectional tournament, District IV tournament and then the North East Regional tournament. The top three wrestlers from the North East Regional tournament advance to the state competition held in Hershey, PA. District IV is arguably one of the toughest districts in the State of Pennsylvania.

Midd-West elementary wrestlers compete in the Susquehanna Valley Elementary Wrestling League where dual matches are held each Sunday afternoon from early December through mid February. Each team produces a line-up of 20 wrestlers ranging from 50lbs through Heavyweight. The match is wrestled like a high school duals with each bout contributing to a team score. After the "varsity" match "junior varsity" wrestlers are paired according to like weight and ability to gain valuable mat time. At the end of the season there is a junior varsity and varsity individual tournament held to crown the S.V.E.W.L. individual and team champions.

Wrestling Association meetings are held the 2nd Tuesday of each month at the Midd-West High School library which is located at 540 East Main Street, Middleburg, Pa. Parents, wrestlers, coaches and any other individuals that have an interest in Midd-West Wrestling are encouraged to attend.
